Trail a knotted line

Hi folks.  Quick note;

Speaking with a delivery captain yesterday, he mentioned his practice of trailing a 100' line, knotted every foot when on a passage.  If you are solo sailing and fall overboard, swim to the wake and grab the line.

I'd add, tie a lifesaving bowline when you reach the line in case you lose your grip of strength....

Do you know what a lifesaving bowline is?  I've mentioned it before.  Hold a line with the left hand as if holding on to a boat dragging you.  Loop the line behind you and with the right (or vise versa) tie a bowline.
